“The possibility of stepping into a higher plane is quite real for everyone. It requires no force or effort or sacrifice. It involves little more than changing our ideas about what is normal.” Deepak Chopra

Normal means different things to different people.  For some it may mean pink hair, for others it could mean drinking a beer with dinner every night.  But whatever it means, it works for you.  Yet sometimes your version of normal is monotonous, boring, or what you’ve been doing since you were 12.  There’s nothing wrong with it, but what if there’s more out there?  How did it become your idea of normal anyway?  It did because you decided to try something new. So what if you shake up the establishment and try something different again?  Who knows you may like it, and if you don’t, you can always go back to your version of normal anyway.

Can you steer the river?

“Don’t try to steer the river.” Deepak Chopra

Can you picture trying to steer the river?  That in itself is a great feat, that no one could accomplish, yet we try all the time.  Every day that we try to go against the direction our lives are moving is us trying to steer the river.  We all have our ideas of how our lives should be, but that’s exactly what it is; ideas.  They aren’t our purpose, if it was, you’d be doing or living it.  The older I get, the more I realize that just because this is what you want, may not mean, that it’s right for you, hence why you’re not in it now.  So now just go with the flow of life and enjoy the adventures along the way.

Everything starts with you

Everything starts with you

“Everything that is happening at this moment is a result of the choices you’ve made in the past.” Deepak Chopra

This is a very deep quote, that makes you think. Why, do you ask?  Well because many of us sit and complain about the situations in our lives.  We complain about our mates, weight, health, job, education, money, debt etc.  But, in all reality, no one else got you here but you!  YOU are dating this person!  YOU aren’t eating healthy or exercising! YOU didn’t finish your education, or go back for more.  YOU are still at a job that you don’t like! YOU are not on a budget, to either save or get out of debt.  Everything starts and ends with YOU, so stop complaining about it and blaming everyone else.  Now that you realize the choice has been yours all along, what are you going to do about it?

Do you talk to yourself?

Do you talk to yourself?

“The most influential person you will talk to all day is you.”  Zig Ziglar

Ok, I admit it, I talk to myself.  I don’t do it when I’m in public, at least not most of the time, but I do.  I talk to myself in the car on the way to work, at home in my room, and sometimes at work when I’m trying to figure something out.  No, I’m not crazy and I hope I’m not the only one, lol.  But I don’t necessarily think that talking to yourself is a sign that you need help.  What if you’re just thinking out loud?  Or what if you’re trying to motivate yourself, and using that inner voice isn’t working?  In any case, only you can influence you!  Yeah you may be impressed with someone’s success or drive, but if you don’t want if for yourself, no one else will.  So maybe talking to yourself, isn’t so bad at all, it’s the answering yourself, that people have to worry about, lol.

Buy or Sell?

Buy or Sell?

“The chief cause of failure and unhappiness is trading what you want most for what you want right now” Zig Ziglar

Compromise can be a good and bad thing.  You compromise a little thing, or what you think is little thinking it will get you closer to your goal.  But sometimes it takes your further away.  Once you realize that, you become sad, unhappy and think that you’re a failure, but you aren’t.  Instead of taking the jet towards your goals, you’re taking the bus and hence the scenic route. Which when you look at it, actually isn’t that bad.  During the scenic route  you get to enjoy the trees, houses, and different landmarks along the way.  So while I wouldn’t advise you to barter your life away, sometimes what you trade can be worth more than you realize.
